Hi! I was using my boyfriend's computer, downloading some images I needed for an assignment. Suddenly, I got a window telling me the computer was infected and prompting me to execute a file so to clean the spyware and virus, etc. I clicked cancel, but the window wouldn't close or disappear... I tried to continue working, but the window kept popping up. Then, my boyfriend came, and he shut the computer down. Afterwards he turned it on and windows starting loading, but I just stays in the "Please wait" part. Please help me. I really really don't want to format the computer. Both of us have tons of info. I know, we should have backed it up, but well. Is there a way to solve this??? I'm no computer expert. Thanks.

Hi, It can be a complex job to recover the data and Windows 7. I would suggest call to any IT tech to fix the issue. However; if you feel strong to troubleshoot, you may try a solution: Start up System in Safe Mode (F5), accept to open Restore System and find a latest point before infection. The system will restart and log in as a loca administrator, copy all data from profiles into backup drives, remove these profiles and create new ones.
