Can not map a drive in windows 7.
After the last set of upgrades, a customer was unable to log-in because the profile got corrupted somehow. I recreated the profile and copied the files back and the login worked again but there were no mapped drives. I attempted to manually add them and got an error "The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error has occurred. Attempt to access invalid address". I logged in with my profile and noticed that my mapped drives from group policy settings were not mapped as well. The printers from group policy mapped just fine though. I can access the drive by using an exact UNC path. I have setup the customer with a shortcut as a temporary fix. Here is a list of symptoms for this problem. Attempting to map with Net use brings back a "System error 87 has occurred" I can navigate to \\fileserver\sharename but not just to \\fileserver Net use shows no connections even if there is a connection to the UNC path Mapping through my computer brings back error: The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error has occurred. Attempt to access invalid address. I have tried the same operations on other computers and they work as expected so I am stumped as to what the problem is. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you want to map to \\fileserver or \\fileserver\sharename? If you want to map to \\fileserver, you need permissions to access it.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
