This is only the right forum for Outlook Express. Outlook and Thunderbird have their own forums.Microsoft Office Outlook Forumshttp://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/officeoutlookBruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

OK. Watch your shorthand. Outlook and Outlook Express are completely different programs. OE works fine.If you send yourself a message using Outlook Express, what exactly happens?Does it ever leave the Outbox? Does it show in Sent Items? Do you get an error message? Please post any error message in its entirety. You can left click on it to highlight and then right click to copy and then paste it into this thread.Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

It never leaves the Outbox. A window pops up ( LOGON Pop Server) asking for Username and Password, after putting in correct info and clicking OK; it keeps opening up same box and asking same question everytime. Once I click OK then you briefly see the Outlook Express box tring to to connect to Pop Server but just saying authorizing....... the Logon window pops up again. Once I STOP the the Outlook Express box it says X Send one message(s) using pop-server Failed Local Area NetworkNo error message

Has this account ever worked in OE or TB?When you get to this point: Once I STOP the the Outlook Express box it says X Send one message(s) using pop-server Failed Local Area Network. There is no Details button with an error message? Then see these links.Outlook Express keeps prompting for your passwordhttp://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_oe_passwords.htmSave password setting not retained in Outlook or Outlook Expresshttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/290684 Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

all email accounts worked fine until recently. We have used Thunderbird for years but when it received emails but not send emails, I set up OE but it did same thing can receive but not send. My wife has separte puter and it does the same thing. We can send emails if we go to RR.com mail site and send them from there. I think it is some windows update that might have started this. There is no details in the Error tab. It is blank only the other message in the Tasks tab. Thanks I will check the links out.

Sending from Webmail and an e-mail client are apples and oranges. I think the problem is either with McAfee or Road Runner.Close all programs except OE. Disable McAfee completely and try to send. If that's not it, it must be something with RR and or your settings. Call tech support and have them reset your password.Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA
