Can we please have some further Desktop improvements to Windows 8.1 before it is released?

Can we please have some further Desktop improvements to Windows 8.1 before it is released, something better than just a Start Screen Menu Tool tip and boot to desktop.

Please consider some of the following suggestions;

1) An option to allow Task bar like the Desktop task bar to exist (i.e. be visible at all times) on all screens (it does currently in Windows 7), including all Metro screens.

2) [An option to turn on] a Charms tool tip.  I see many users struggling to get the Charms menu to display.

3) [An option to turn a way to] have the Start Screen Menu tool tip stay on the screen at all times, so you can switch back to the Desktop without having to hunt around looking for the Desktop [Tile] Icon.

Thinking about the above request, the suggest that makes the most sense to me is to allow Desktop users the option to keep the Desktop Tool bar visible at all times, even when the Metro apps are being displayed, this tool bar including a Start Screen Menu Tool Tip and a Charms Tool tip.

I would prefer an option to turn off or uninstall all Metro apps and its Full Screen Menu, but since this is not going to happen, please consider reviewing the Desktop experience. It seem the designers are so focused on mini-tablets that they can no longer see the real benefits of the desktop experience, currently enjoyed by 1 billion users and is about to be crippled by what many consider a phone OS solution.  Please, please reconsider.

Thanks for the URL.  I watched the mouse usage video, and it shows the use of the top right hand corner, the exact one that I love to disable in Windows 8.1 now that this option is available.

I cannot express how much people dislike using this mouse method to access the Charms menu, whether it be from the top or the bottom of the right hand side.  Just watching the video makes me uncomfortable. Until today when watching this video, I had not realised how much of a negative impact the Charms menu has had on me, I felt myself flinch every time the mouse went up to the top right corner. I believe the reson for my negative responce to the Charms menu is the many times when the Charms menu appears and we did not want it to, and then there are times when we are desparately attempting to get it to display long enough for us to select one of its menu options.

Someone posted how the Charms got there name from jewelry items.  In my country the term "charms" is used for trinkets sold as supposedly posessing magical abilities to bring good fortune but they actually do nothing and are cheaply made junk.   This analogy explains very much how many of us feel about the Charms menu. It is sold to us as being wonderful, but is close to useless and just plain frustrating to use for mouse users.

I do appreciate your suggestion, even if it is not an answer for me, and I really do hope that something can be done to improve Windows 8.x.
