Cannot Connect
My wife recently got a Time Capsule for her Mac and the internet works fine on her computer. I cannot get connected to my PC with Windows Vista. I am connected locally with excellent signal but cannot get on the internet. I tried dealing with the Apple help personnel but they could not do anything for me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Shawn

What happens when you try? What IP address does your PC have? What DNS settings? -B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook

Hi, To have access to Apple Airport or Time Caspule it is required to install AirPort Utility 5.5.1 for Windows. http://support.apple.com/downloads/#airport Soon, it is installed, will give you an access to all Time Capsule settings. BartBart Kurowski IT Suport Analyst MCP, MCST, MCITP, MCAS

Bart Bart Kurowski IT Suport Analyst MCP, MCST, MCITP, MCAS I know he would need the AirPort Utility for Windows to MANAGE the Time Capsule from the Windows box, but he's only looking to connect thru it. Shouldn't need the utility for that; it's just an 802.11 access point basically.-B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook

Hi, Correct. I was supprise as well. I am Mac user, run dual Mac OS and Win 7 and had a problem access o an Airport first time. Anyway, this the way how Apple works and provide access to its devices using Microsoft OS. But the way, having access to Air Port or Time Capsule access point settings required the software on Mac OS X as well. you can't access via web. Bart Bart Kurowski IT Suport Analyst MCP, MCST, MCITP, MCAS I think it's more likely that he just has WEP or WPA enabled on the Time Capsule and doesn't know/have the codes for that to put into Windows. Or that the Time Capsule isn't giving his Windows machine proper DHCP support - no DNS servers perhaps.-B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook

Hi, What you said it's possible. What I think is: 1. This is a Pc so, I presume it has a LAN connection so, I would try use this one. 2. User said, has a local connetion but not Internet. It may be that the computer accessed different SSID then at home (worth to check). 3. May be a I.E settings, could be Proxy enabled? BartBart Kurowski IT Suport Analyst MCP, MCST, MCITP, MCAS
