Cannot access DVD drive - Access is denied
Hi Tech Pros, I am encountering a problem in Windows 7 professional. I cannot view the files of a DVD-ROM. When I right-click on the DVD-drive to view properties it display 0 bytes. When I try to access the dvd-drive using command prompt I get the "Access is denied" message. When I try to access the drive in Safe Mode it open normally. Even the icon of the DVD-drive is displayed. I cannot figure out how to solve the problem. The computer is not in a domain either. Regards...

Hi Syed, I tried the steps in the link below: Your CD or DVD drive cannot read or write media I used the Microsoft Automated Troubleshooting services. Unfortunately it was taking a lot of time, had to stop. I eventually formatted the HDD to solve the problem. As expected, I didn't get the problem - didn't want to use the hard way though.
