Cannot access share on VPN...
I have recently moved mywebsites over to Windows 2008 server. When my websites were on the 2003 box there was a share for some people to change content on particular sites. All anyone had to do was login to the VPN and access the share with 'net use * \\machine\share'. It would prompt for a username/password and then you were in... you could browse the share.I have setup the same share with the same permissions and now I can't access the share from a Windows Vista client that is logged into the VPN. When I login to the VPN with a Windows XP client I can access the share with no problems?!!? When I do the 'net use' thing I always get "System error 53 has occurred. The network path was not found." I have already disabled firewalls, removed IPv6 andused IP addresses rather than hostnames. I can't figure out why my Vista machine can't access the share but my Windows XP machine can. The error suggests a networking problem but I'm not sure this is the issue since I can access it with XP.Ideas?

Hi, Its a known issue on Windows Vistas side. A hotfix can be fixed the problem. For more information, please refer to the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article: Error message when you access the shared resources in a cooperation network over a VPN connection from a Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008-based client computer: "0x80004005" or "0x80070035" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958285 Hope it helps.
