Cannot access shared folders on windows 7 Ultimate
Hi everyone, The problem is as follows; 1. I have 2 machines (Desktop and PC) both are having the same version of operating system (Windows 7 Ultimate x64), both are connected through an ADSL Router. 2. I can open both of them through each other by typing "\\192.168.1.x" in the start menu, but every time, it asks for a user name and a password although I check the box of "Remember my credentials". 3. When I open the pc from the laptop, I can access the user folder but I cannot access the partitions, it tells me the following; Network Error Windows cannot access \\192.168.1.2\data You do not have permission to access \\192.168.1.2\data. Contact you network administrator to request access. 4. on the other hand, the PC can access the laptop partitions just fine. 5. I checked the settings, and found that "Everyone" have a full control for the partitions of both. Please, help me about this issue because it is annoying, thanks in advance for your time and effort.

To remember credentials, on each computer, in Control Panel, open Credential Manager. Please add the credential of the other computer. Then, if you still cannot access the shared drive, please check if you have turned on Password Protected Sharing. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
