Cannot browse to my user folder in windows 7
I have recently noticed that when trying to access my user folder via file browser, I cannot see it. If I manually enter c:\users\steve, all of my files are there, but if i browse to c:\users, the only folder that displays is the public account. If I change the folder options to show all hidden files, it still does not show up. However, if I choose to show all hidden OS files, then it appears, as a hidden folder with a lock icon. It was not this way when I installed, and I cannot think of what changed other than a possible virus/malware infection. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance
Steve

Steve you are looking at the new file system, what you are seeing is a hard / sym link not the folder, if you look at the path you will see what I am talking about.

You can take the ownership for the folder from the SYSTEM account. Then un-hide that folder.

Thank you Arthur Xie!
That worked like a charm. The ownership was set as Administrator, not myself. I was confused as to how this happened, as I'm running win7 on 3 pc's, none of which had this problem. I know the new file system, and therefore knew something was not right!
Thanks again.
