Cannot connect to internet problems
Hello there, I wonder if anyone can help. I'm unable to connect to the internet with my windows 7 pc. Currently the network says 'Unidentified network' and cannot acquire an IP address after running the diagnose. The Pc is connected via a wire to my D Link router. All other devices (be it wireless) are working in the house. Laptop, phone etc. I've tried various restarts, changing the cable, changing the workgroup and automatically assigning an ip (via TCP/IPv4) to one within the same number as my other devices... i.e 192.168.1.xxx . Normally it's setup to automatically get an ip. There have been no hardware changes as far as I know, It was working over the weekend until I went away. This happened a while ago, but it just started working again after a couple of restarts. Any ideas are really appiciated, i'm pretty stuck with this. Many thanks, Rich

A few things you should check.. look at the results of IPCONIFG /all on this PC. Is it similar to others on your LAN? You may want to check to make sure you have the latest network drivers for that network card. Check on the vendors web site (from another pc or course). Do you have another NIC that you can plug in to give it a try? Visit: anITKB.com, an IT Knowledge Base.
