Cannot connect to the internet
I have a wireless network set up and have a desktop with Windows 7 a laptop with Windows vista and a printer all working with the wireless home network, but I cannot connect a laptop running windows xp professional, either via ethernet or the installed wireless G card, even though the wireless card detects the connection, but will not connect. I used to connect previously on a unsecured connection, but when I went to the WPa secured connection, it will not connect. When I enter the Network identification phrase, (12 digits) and I go back into properties, it has reverted back to an 8 digit phrase.. When I utilize the Network I.D. Wizard, the phrase: "This computer is part of a business network, and I use it to connect to other computers at work" is checked/highlited. When I check the phrase: "This computer is for home use and is not part of a business network", and restart the computer for changes to take effect, then go back to the Network I.D. Wizard. The phrase that this is a business computer is checked/highlited. The program will not allow me to change the status of the computer usage, nor will it allowme to enter the correct Network identification. So I assume this is why I cannot now connect to the internet through a secured network, even with the password. Help1 person needs an answerI do too
