Cannot connect to wireless N
Hi, I have an HP Pavilion DV5 1138 running Vista home premium sp1 64b. It has an intel 5100 agn wireless card which has the latest driver from HP. My wireless router is a d-link dir-825 n router. My problem is that I cannot seem to get the computer to connect to the router using the N protocol. It will connect using a and g. I have tried to restrict the router to N, the computer will see it , but will not connect. Would anyone have any suggestions to help me make that N connection. Thank you.

Hi, Thank you for posting. Connecting the Wireless LAN N should be related to the wireless NIC and the wireless router. We may need to checkif the wireless NIC and the router settings are correct and proper. Based on my research, I would like to suggest the following: Please re-configure the 802.11N wireless network according the Users Guide of the D-Link router, check if there are some specific settings of the wireless NIC on the computer and adjust it to see if it works. We can also try to upgrade the routers firmware to check if it helps. If you have another computer which has a wireless NIC supports the N type, please try it and see how it works. I am sorry that we have no direct information about the wireless NIC and router. Since the issue is hardware related, it is also recommended that you contact the D-Link and Intel for technical support.
