Cannot download Windows 7 stalls at 99%
As soon as I heard about Windows 7 RC was available for downloading I exitedly went to the Win 7 download page and selected 32 bit version and started the download (Default download manager). Everything appeared progressed as expected that is no errors, steady transfer speed etc. Six hours later I checked and we were at 99% complete. Only .01 gig to go. Three hours later same status. The DL Manager was cycling to reconect and the bottom line is I never did get the desired Windows 7 download. Figured a screwed DL so I tried again not once but 4 more times over a week. SAame result so I made sure my PC was clean of virus's, lots of disk space etc and tried the DL again but for 64 bit version. That was today. Same end resaiult. Called Roadrunner Tech support to make sure clean network. No help from the tech. Can anyone clue me in as to whats wrong? DL fails everytime at same place. I run an IBM Thinkpad 1 gig memory, 40 gig hard drive Wireless to Linksys router. Please Help.

Well known issue. There's two ways: (1) If on your desktop is an icon for the download manager (looks like an arrow pointing downwards), use this instead of doing a new download. It will try to resume where it got stuck before. If there isn't an icon, go directly to step (2): Try another browser, Opera or Firefox should do the trick. Be aware that the reports of success and failure vary fromuser to user and from day to day.Mobile AMD64 3000+, VIA Apollo K8T800 chipset, 1 G RAM, ATIRadeonMobility 9700, 20x DVDRW, C:XPSP3 (55G),D:WIN7 (25G),F:DATA (250G)

Thanks for the suggestions. In regard to restarting the download with the desk icon, done that Still stuck. I think I'll try your different browser idea. Again thanks. Never thought there would be a microsoft download issue. Ha HaThanks Happy-man
