Cannot eject or safely remove a USB harddrive in Windows 7 Professional
I have no icon to safely remove a USB drive in the task bar. NOR is it shown if "Show All Icons" is selected, NOR is it available in the list of System Icons. It is NOT hidden, I checked, it simply is NOT available. Right clicking on the drive icon in My Computer does not show an eject option either. So, how does one safely remove or eject a USB hard drive in Windows 7 Professional? Or get these features restored so one can do it via these GUI interfaces?

See link and below might help out some. 1. Open the Run command by pressing the Windows logo key +R. 2. Enter the following command and hit Enter: RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll This will bring up the "Safely Remove Hardware" dialog box: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-desktop/safely-remove-hardware-icon-missing-and-cant-eject/e9fda0a2-c308-4853-bf1d-a3926ff0fcd1
