Once the preliminary stuff is passed, and one is waiting for the system to request the installation of the ActiveX control, Internet Explorer becomes inactive. Noel,I had run Malwarebytes, SUPERAntiSpyware, Spybot Search & Destroy, Microsoft Security Essentials, all with full or deep scans. I have now wiped the hard drive and performed a clean install. I am now installing SP3. Thanks for your responses.Chuck the 80 year Old dogstill learning new tricks!
