Cannot install office 2010 on Windows 7 due to lack of permissions
I purchased Microsoft Office Professional Academic 2010, and I am unable to install it. When I run the installation I receive an error 1303 stating that I do not have appropriate permissions to access file C:\program file(x86)\common files\microsoft shared\source engine. I have tried changing the permissions of said file, and have had a security window tell me "access is denied" I am the sole administrator of this computer and have tried many of the solutions offered by the various forums. If anyone could give me an idea on how to fix this problem, and a step-by-step walk-through (I am by no means an expert) it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Nicholas Rosi

Go into the control panel under user accounts and change your user account setting to off. Then run the setup file for office as administrator. (right click the file to get menu) Also what version of Windows 7 are you running? 32 bit or 64 bit?

Reboot into safe mode in any way possible (networking, prompt, etc). Once in safe mode, go to the folder that is causing you the hassle. Once you are at the folder, right click and go to properties, get into the administrative folder for security and edit the permissions. You should be able to take over full controls of all settings. Click apply, then ok then close the folder. Reboot normally, and you should (might!) have found the program now installs without the permission problem of your install folder. Let me know if it works for you.
