Cannot keep Windows Live Mail working
I have installed windows live mail 4 times and everytime after 1-2 weeks I get a message saying mail cannot open, and 2 times I have re-formated my hard drive and the other times by removing and installing again. I have tried adding adding "old" to live mail and it doesn't help (I probably don't do something right) Any ideas what is causing the problem and how to correctit?, I don't want to reformat again and re-installing isn't helping. Thanks.

Do you remember the exact error message when it wouldn't open, it generally gives a specific error. Check your taskmanager and you should see a wlmail.exe file. End the largest one (the others will close automatically) and then re-open Windows live Mail. If it continues to be a problem, uninstall it (from Programs & Features, Windows Live Essentials, and you'll see it there. Then you can re-install it. What are you running for AV? Have you check that you don't have malware running on your system? There's no reason for reformat your drive and reinstalling the OS. MCSE, MCSA, MCDST

The exact message is; "Windows Live Mail could not be started. The applicationwas unable to open the Windows Live Mail message store. Windows Live Mail was unable to locate its message database. If you've moved the database files to a new location, click OK to reset the database path to that location. Otherwise, click cancel to proceed , any existing messages found will be available under orphaned accounts. (0x00000000,.2)". And thanks for trying to help.
