I have a Dlink d-321 NAS device which I was able to access under xp. I just bought a laptop which comes with windows 7. I caan't see the device nor able to create the network name. It's default to homegroup. Please help. I checked with Dlink and it's said the unit is fully compatible with windows 7.

I suggest you click Start->Control Panel->Network and Sharing Center->Change advanced sharing settings. enable Network Discovery and File and Printer sharing. If the issue persists, please check NetBIOS over TCP/IP settings. 1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.2. Under Network and Internet, click View network status and tasks. 3. Click Change adapter settings.4. Right-click Local Area Connection, and then click Properties.5. In the This connection uses the following items list, double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), click Advanced, and then click the WINS tab.6. Choose “Default…” under “NetBIOS Setting”. If the issue still occurs, please temporary disable the antivirus and firewall on the Windows 7 computer. If the above suggestions do not help, please let us know the detail error message when you access the NAS with its NetBIOS name.
