Cannot open email attachments, it says internet explorer has stopped working.  It just started happening in last month, using windows vista home premium
I am unable to open email attachments just in the last month. I am running Windows Vista premium on an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC laptop. It will says internet explorer has stopped working. then it will try to close than reopen the tab several times. Sometimes when this happens an Adobe reader tab will open on bottom tool bar, but nothing comes up. Then the only way I can get the adobe reader tab to close is to go into task manager and end it there even though it says it is running. If I use a work computer on my break I can open the attachments with no problem. This is very frustrating. I am not very technical so please put answer in laymans terms and steps on how to fix this.

Hi, this message means, the Internet Explorer crashes. please download this reg file from my SkyDrive: http://cid-128fc518635be2dc.office.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/MS%20Foren/Registry/WER%5E_InternetExplorer.reg.txt (remove the .txt extension after you downloaded the file) and make a double click on the .reg file to import it. When the Internet Explorer crashes, Windows Error Reporting Service [1] creates a dmp file under C:\Localdumps. Please upload the file to your public Skydrive [2] folder and post the link here. I take a look at the dump with the Debugger, maybe I can see which Addon/Toolbar is the cause. I suggest you temporary disable antivirus and firewall, then check the result. If the issue persists, please let us know if it works in Safe Mode with Networking. If it works, please reset IE settings and check the result again. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
