Cannot open my ext hdd locked with Bitlocker
Ijust got my external harddrive locked with the bitlocker application. I use windows 7. I was tryin to decrypt it, but something got crashed and now when i try to open my drive it says application falied and it says to enter the recovery key. I typed the one I have, but it says incorrect. I have no clue what to do, any help Please !

OK then there is a problem with the bitlocker key vault. What are you using, a TPM, USB stick, both? If neither the password or the recovery are working then you are toast. I am considering a white paper on security for the IT site but this topic is very complex and involves a lot of research. I am developing some code now to for security that would make the NSA have fits. I wonder if there is a hardware issue that is affecting the disk. Can you see the disk in explorer? OK given you lack a USB copy of the keyring, you have lost your disk of files. My advise, do not use Bitlocker until you have learned all that is needed to use it safely.
