Cannot sharing internet connection
We have only one WIFI internet connection but each of us have a laptop. We initially bough a wireless router (TP-Link WR841N) to share internet connection to three laptop via router. We chosed one laptop running win7 as host computer and connect it to receive internet connection from outside then connect NIC port to WAN port of router. Last week, everything is OK, every machine can connect internet via router signal and internet connection sharing from host computer. Yesterday we encountered a problem, the only host computer can access internet the others cannot. I have checked sharing option it is OK but the connection with LAN (router) state "Unidentified network". I have tried setting router with several ways but still cannot deliver connection to other computers. Anyone can help me to solve this problem or help me point out the reason. Thank a lots!

Hello, If you have purchased a routing device then your routing device should be your gateway, NOT another Windows machine. This will simply the whole thing. 1. The WAN port on your router should go to your ISP's modem or Cable modem 2. NAT (Network Address Translation) and DHCP should be enabled on the router 3. Set up a wireless SSID and WPA or WPA2 with a password then have your laptops connect to the wireless signal 4. Make sure ICS and bridging on all your laptops are OFF CheersMiguel Fra / Falcon IT Services Computer & Network Support, Miami, FL Visit our Knowledgebase and Support Sharepoint Site

Dear Guys, Thank you very much for your care. Our problem is litle complicated. We have three computers but only one WIFI connection with username, password. It is no problem if we use only one computer. Problem here is sharing connection to other computers and mobile devices. Now clients can connect to the router with strong signal but we receive a message: "No internet connection". In host computer, we can access internet via outside hotspot with Username, Password. The connection with outside hotspot is OK and has a message: "University network connected, shared". The connection with WAN port of router has problem. If I turn off WIFI connection it give me message:"Local area connection is enabled, connected", if Wifi is turned on it "Identifying...." for a long time and final give me message: "Unidentified network". I though there is a routing problem so I cannot sharing internet connection from wifi connection to local area connection, but I do not know what exactly and how to solse (because last week they were worked well). Please help me!

This will usually happen when the router is taking a long time to issue IP information Try flush dns and renew the ip ipconfig /flushdns ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew In that order. Try www.thetechgroup.com.au , it worked for me! _____________________________________________________ Real Engineers, Real Problems, Real Solutions www.thetechgroup.com.au

Thank friends! My problem is finally solved. After searching related issued on the internet, I have tried a lot of setting but no one solve the problem, the clients side still appear yellow triange and message no internet access. Luckily when I have only two computers one with win7, one with XP then they can share internet connections. We finally discover that if there is only one win7 connected in sharing network which is enable IPv6 then we cannot share internet connection. To enable sharing we need disable IPv6 on all of the computers in the network. An experience leave here to help anyone has same problem. Thanks again!
