Cannot sign into Windows as the password is incorrect
OP: I set a pass code on my sign in screen, so my son could just go under guest, I need more help to get back in, I did the cmd, I don't do good with tech unless I'm walked through. Please help me.I don't how to get in to my account, when first signing in I typed a security password, so no one could get into my document, and I'm the administrator of my computer, and I must of typed in two different passwords, because you type in your password then you type it again to verify it, but it did not say they did not match so I logged out for the night got on the next morning and put my password in and it said did you forget your password, so had to of typed in ar got a letter mixed up on the one where you verify that they mach but it didn't and I thought everything was fine and now I have been locked out for over a week, and going under guest to check my e-mail, but all my important documents are under mine, because I'm the administrator on my computer I've already tried the "cmd" prompt, but I got confused. I really need to get into my files. Thank you Jodi

Hello fallenangel2,You should have a look at the below article that talks about ‘How to log on to your Windows XP-based computer if you forget your password or if your password expires’ http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321305Note: You should be able to login to one of the Administator account to get the password. If you are locked out and cannot login to any Administrator account. Your only option to sign in to Windows would be to remember the password you have set. There is no way to retrieve the password and login if you are locked out with an incorrect password.Microsoft cannot help you retrieve passwords of files and features in Microsoft products that are lost or forgotten.I suggest that you have a look at the below thread by ‘BillFill’ on Lost or forgotten passwords:http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistasecurity/thread/3eba3150-8742-4264-be9f-0daaad2282cdAlso look at the ‘Microsoft policy about lost or forgotten passwords’:http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/189126Thanks,Irfan H, Microsoft Answers Support Engineer.
