Cannot use Microsoft Remote Desktop using win7 to win7 will work with win7 to winxp? I have set the remote controls in win7 just like in winxp but to no avail. win7 to win7 will not evern bring up the logon screen. using remote desktop from win 7 to winxp brings up the logon screen and you can login to the remote winxp computer. Are there some extra controls for remote desktop besides the firewall open and remote control box checked under remote assist and remote contro?? Thanks Bill Lamoreaux

Hi, Which version of Windows 7 is installed? Please understand that only Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate and Windows 7 Enterprise can be used as Remote Desktop Host. The Home editions cannot be used as host machine. If the machine is not Home editions, I suggest you perform the following steps to troubleshoot the issue. 1. Temporarily turn off firewall on each Windows 7 machine. 2. Perform a Clean Boot to check the result. Remote Desktop Connection: frequently asked questions If the issue persists, please refer to the following article to configure Remote Desktop host and client. Thanks, Novak
