Canon MF4270 Scanner

After installing Windows 8.1 the printer and fax works but I can no longer scan to my computer. I have tried the Canon Toolbox program with no results ... scanner is not found. I have tried the Microsoft scanner program that comes with Windows 8.1 and it cannot find the scanner either.

Help please.

Download the latest drivers for Windows 8.1 from the manufacturer's website.

Having same issue but with a slight twist.  Everything (scan, print, fax) works fine on initial install, but scanning fails after subsequent reboots/power cycles.

Have tried complete drivers/device removal and reinstall.  Was sure to have the USB cable unplugged during the driver reinstall.  Computer finds the MFC4270 just fine on its intial power up, and every function is operable.  Next power cycle or reboot, and the scanning function ceases.

Tried to disable and then re-enabling the driver in Device Manager (this has worked on previous issues) but to no avail on this issue.

And have latest 64 bit drivers from Canon USA.

Hope this sheds a little more light on this.  Thank you for you time.

UPDATE:  Called Canon tech support states it is a MS WIA service issue and left it at that.

I have the same Problem. It was working on first install. After a while it is not working anymore.

Right click on the Printer -> the "start scan" is visible but nothing hapens anymore.

Did anyone find a solution for that Problem?
