Certain IPs unreacheable from ping and IE8 - reachable in Firefox and Chrome
Hi,
I have a Windows 7 Pro installation in a SOHO where some IPs are unreachable from IE8 and even ping, but load fine within Firefox, Chrome or other apps.
In short, my intuition is that these IPs are unreachable from programs that are an integrated part of Windows, but not from third party apps.
This does, however, not make much sense to me. I have tried disabling the firewall and switching to OpenDNS on both the router and the system itself, but it made no difference.
Does anyone know of what that might trigger this behavior or have any suggestions for diagnosing the problem?
Kind regards,

Hi,
After checking this issue, I want to confirm if this IPs represent some websites. If so, is it
convenient to let us know such IPs?
I think it should be related to IE8 security settings, so you could try the steps mentioned in
the following link to test the result:
How to optimize Internet Explorer
Also check if there are any proxy settings in Internet Explorer.
If the issue persists, what’s the result in
Safe Mode with Networking
and Clean Boot?
