Certain people cannot receive my email when I use Outlook Express.
I am using XP Pro. Two people who are on the same server (I work with them) cannot receive my emails when I am sending from Outlook Express. My email address is a Roadrunner address. When I use the Roadrunner webmail, they receive my email. Just not when I go through OE. There are two other coworkers who are having the same problem. Their emails are not being received by these same two people. The one thing all 3 of us have in common is that we are using OE and AVG Free virus protection. I removed the AVG and did not use any virus protection for 6 weeks. That didn't help.My boss has looked on the server and I am not on any blocked list. Any ideas??1 person needs an answerI do too

There are three issues:(1) You should switch from OE to Thunderbird since OE is based on VB and prone to VBS script-attack(2) Roadrunner may be filtering the OE emails (risk of VBS-script attack) or your computer is affected with trojan that you are unaware of. NOte: AVG is pretty good, but if you do not have a Firewall, AV/AS can do only certain things by scanning the malware. Trojans and rootkits are quite difficult to catch, and once installed difficuklt to remove.(3) Because your Email removed for privacy is actually a web-based service, it does not have the problem of establishing the SMTP session.Having said that, call Roadrunner to help you setting up the SMTP Incoming and Outgoing Server address in OE Network Properties.

Thank you for your reply. This gives me a different starting point. Here are some other questions I have for you.1) What is VB and VBS script attack?2) I have already approached RR about this and they were of no help. I have had the firewall turned on this whole time and have switched from AVG to Avira. I don't know much about Avira. Good? Bad? Mediocre?3) I don't have a clue what you mean in this one. 0_0

Hi, Hippletwist! I'm Keoni Chavez, Junior Community Manager with AVG. I'm sorry to hear you're having problems. While I'm glad to hear you have protected your computer again, I'd like to point you toward this latest report that compares antivirus applications: http://www.av-test.org/certifications?order=protection_desc&lang=enAVG ranks higher in Protection than Avira, and compares favorably with all 17 other test subjects. I invite you to try our AVG Free application and see what you think: http://free.avg.com/us-en/download-avg-anti-virus-freeI'm available for questions if you have any, and I hope your issues work themselves out.Respectfully,Keoni
