Certain user cannot login over network, others can
I have a new dell machine, I added a password to the default account and tried to logon through smb (Windows shares) but access is denied ("Logon is unsuccessful" on vista). I have tried on Vista and win7 machines no luck. I then added a second user account on the machine and it works fine, connecting from all machines in the network. My question is, how do I change the settings for the orginal user account on Windows 7 Home Premium without local security policy?

Hi, To troubleshoot the issue, I suggest you temporarily disable firewall and Group Policy for the problematic user on the local machine. For more information, please refer to the following article: Disable User or Computer Settings in Local Group Policy Thanks, Novak
