Check Disk Memory Leak :: Alternative Programs?
Hello, I have a check disk memory leak problem, & I can not repair multiple partitions. Using chkdsk from the GUI and CMD both result in a memory leak.
I also tried:
chkdisk /f DRIVE:
which doesn't mem leak, but returned errors on all the partitions.
The errors ranged from failure to recover files [ohh well, I dont mind] to:
An unspecified error occurred (766f6c756d652e63 3f1).
Is there an alternative to chkdsk that doesn't die horribly?

I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, & alternate computer, Enterprise 64bit.
Instead of spelling out the details of my drives configuration, I will just upload a screen shot of MMC.

[Dont mind the random unallocated space.... it was some tests I did a while ago, which I got too lazy to clean up.]

I have checked other threads:
[Windows 7 Check Disk Memory Leak Issue]
[Windows 7 chkdsk memory leak?]
[Explorer.exe/Check Disk Memory Leak (Professional x64)]
Those did not help anything at all. Not sure why they are marked as "Solved". [unless i missed an important detail]

Thanks for reading.

Hi,
Based on the current situation, I suggest booting in Safe Mode or WinRE environment to run check disk. When starting the computer, keep pressing F8 and choose
Safe Mode or Startup Repair option.
In System Recovery Options, also try the Windows Memory Diagnostic. If the issue persists, you can update the device drivers and BIOS from the manufacture.
Best Regards,

First back up the whole disk on a as big as necessary other logical-physical support medium & then...booting in Safe Mode...When starting the computer, keep pressing F8 and choose
Safe Mode ...then in Admin-Autority use if possible Clamwin updated in Basic detect
mode with 15 min advance for each Gig on the said compunit & whatever was connected at the momment
of discovery...& then run fresh-free installs of Avast(watchout for any false-positive, an hour+half later start MalawareByte Anti-Malaware, an hour+half later start Kaspersky Tdss(trj-killer) or full trial install...this might be slightly
off the deep end to config(each fresh intalls must be told to exceptionalised each other out off-limits exeactly in the programs file(s:rare cases) & Documents and Settings file(s:"...")...
If nothing is found this way ...use Microsoft msert.exe..If nothing is found this way use Eset(nod) Free Online...& if to no avail (very good by the way if nothing is found)...
CCleaner(not an Anti-Virus): set for cleaning shared modules or dll & free space on the disc(C mostly...if your lucky...you might get to install it in the scrolling menu that gets you
properties at the bottom & do the same on other partitions &/or disc(s))...
Auslogics second choice deep defrag...IE_X# self cleaning temporary-internet-files...Wipe from
Privacyroot...in this case...got read out every details as well as CCleaner...for what is gone
is mostly rarely coming back..At each finished stages you check if the problem still
persist...then if finally so...Reinstall last Service Pack patch-upgraging...Then after theese procedures...nothing is concusive or satiffactory..Go at least 5days in the past...If all this
fails reintall!
