Chkdsk/f
trying to defrag and computer tells me chkdsk/f is scheduled to run but search for file says invalid file name1 person needs an answerI do too

The file name is chkdsk.exe. /f is a switch that is passed to chkdsk. So, to run it, you would want to do something like start->run->cmd.exe->OK->chkdsk.exe /f->Enter. Then respond affirmatively to the prompt to schedule chkdsk to run the next time the system starts. Reboot, and chkdsk should run. Depending on the speed of the system, the size of the disk, and the problems chkdsk may encounter, the process may take some time - a number of hours, in fact. The results may be logged to the event logs, with a source of Winlogon and and Event Id of 1001.
