I bought Asus laptop n550jv models, but later updated've found the problem and gives me the message 80240438. Please help.

I do not know exactly at what date the problem occurred .I  think about two weeks ago. unfortunately both Windows8 and Windows defender not be updated . I do not want to use System Restore .Please help if there is a better way.

        

sorry i was nt clear in my previous post..whn does ths error occur , at the startup of windows or  any specific prog you try to open..? also check the event log ?

If you have installed security software such as firewall or anti-virus software, please disable it further more temporarily remove it and try again.

Try to reset Windows update components:

Then, check if there is any proxy set in Internet option -> Connection -> LAN setting if so, please check the option to auto detect.

If the issue still persists, please upload the %windir%\windowsupdate.log into SkyDrive or similar ones and share the link here for further research.

But now I have a new problem when I go to windows update to 8.1 I've this message

Sorry, Store is not available in your region

For the Windows Store issue, please check the region of your computer:

Maybe the worm also change the Region settings:

Location of my PC in Windows 8on Iran. I review it. But the message is the same. I think Microsoft will not support Iran. Is it true? If so, why not support?
