Colorful Lines and Messed-Up System
Around two days ago, while my sister was apparently showing a video to someone on YouTube on our kitchen computer, suddenly, the computer froze and turned off.An hour later, I came downstairs to use the computer, turned it on as usual, and went on a couple websites, when all of a sudden the screen kept freezing and red patches of dots/lines began appearing on the screen. This would hold for a couple of seconds, then the screen would turn black and this would repeat. After a few times, the screen remained black, not necessarily "monitor turned off" black, but more like "screen is idle, and there is no wallpaper" black (which is a lighter black). I turned it off holding the physical power button on the side of the computer.ANYWAYS, I then proceeded to turn on the computer again, but this time the startup was errant, with the part when there is a hyphen blinking had a bunch of dots/colons behind it. Plus, the screen looked shrunk. And now, there were little pairs of red lines all over the screen when loading Microsoft XP. After it finished loading, the screen turned that "no wallpaper" black again, and then nothing happened.I continued by, AGAIN, turning the computer off by holding the physical power button. After that, I restarted the computer in Safe Mode with Networking, and there were pairs of lines again, but at least I could access the computer. After turning it off, then restarting it today, in Safe Mode with Networking, it seems there no longer is any red lines, but I am still hesitant, for in regular startup, the errors still exist. I am currently typing this now on the computer in Safe Mode with Networking, and I am running a Microsoft Security Essentials and Spybot S&D scans in the background. Comp.
