Command prompt always runs as administrator
Somehow, I've gotten my Win7 configured so that the command prompt always runs in elevated mode. I want to be able to run it non-elevated, but can't. The obvious places that this could be configured do not indicate that it is configured to always run as administrator. If I look at the properties page for C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe (or even for C:\Windows\SysWOW64\cmd.exe), the Compatibility tab will not allow this to be configured as "Run this program as an administrator", and yet even if I run cmd.exe directly from there (not from a shortcut), it runs in elevated mode. Is there a registry setting that controls this? How can I turn off the admin level command prompt?

Never mind... I had UAC turned off. Just didn't realize it.

Hi, Please understand disabling UAC will let the computer become less security. It is just a workaround on this issue. Please also click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right click Command Prompt -> Properties -> Shortcut Tab -> Advanced button -> Uncheck Run as administrator option. After that, you can enable UAC and check if command prompt runs in elevated mode.
