Comp. not defragment
JoseIbarra, I tried what you said but will only defrag. 18%, I am runing Windows XP pro. on my comp.After T get done defragmenting I get a message that says some files of this volume could not be defragment1 person needs an answerI do too

I would be interested in seeing a Disk Defragmenter report. Open Disk Defragmenter and click on Analyse. Select View Report and click on Save As and Save. Now find VolumeC.txt in your My Documents Folder. Open the file, and place the cursor anywhere in the file, select Edit, Select All to highlight all text and copy and paste into the body of your message. Do this before running Disk Defragmenter as it is more informative.Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

before you defragment, i suggest you run CHKDSK/R to check the disk for errors. start>run>"type cmd" this opens the command prompt window type chkdsk /r, windows will ask you if you want to schedule the chkdsk, say yes, and restart. dont interrupt chkdsk, after ckdsk completion,try your defrag operation again.Goodluck
