hi whilst trying to create a partition in windows 7 my computer crashed. now i have lost 25GB of hard drive space how can i recover it?

If it is a hardware fault on the hard drive itself you will need to find a third party utility to analyze the hard drive. You should be able to obtain a free utility from the website of the hard drive manufacturer. You will probably have wipe the hard drive completely clean with a third party utility and then re-initalize it.
