I have tried shutting down computer through the start button and windows task manager; however computer does not recognize command and restarts. Windows task manager does not show any running programs. How can I tell what programs are still running before powering off computer?1 person needs an answerI do too

This could be a switch problem. I've seen it before. When you go to power down your computer pull the power button wires off of the motherboard. I had a similar problem once, and what I did to troubleshoot it was this. Start the shut down mode then pull the switch wires off of the motherboard. be careful that you don't pull anything else off. This is the only good way that tells you if its software or the switch button.
