Make this easy on yourself and purchase a router. Not only will you be better protected from the Internet but you will easily be able to set up your Local Area Network.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

With a computer connected to your dsl modem, do Start>Run>cmd [enter] and get a command prompt. At the command prompt, type: ipcofig /all [enter] to get your IP address, the gateway address, and the DNS servers being used by your ISP.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

No, of course it isn't. You have to use the same subnet for both computers.

Just use the same DNS servers as you are using on the "host".MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
