Configuring Windows to use a serial terminal?
I would like to configure either a Windows Vista or Windows XPbox to accept inbound connections over a serial port (obviously to a command line). Essentially, what I'm looking for is the Windows equivalent of this:

Am I correct in thinking there is nothing built into either OS for this? If so, can anyone recommend an application that provides this service?

Hi,
Based on my knowledge and search, you can use HyperTerminal in Windows XP.
How to run HyperTerminal on Windows XP
===========
Click Start->Accessories-> Communications->HyperTerminal
For some useful information about HyperTerminal:
Using Windows Server 2003 in a Managed Environment: HyperTerminal

However, Windows Vista does not include HyperTerminal. You can use HyperTerminal Private Edition (latest version being 6.4) and HyperACCESS (latest version being 8.4) on Windows Vista.

hope it helps.
