Connection problems in Homegroup
I have 2 PC's running windows 7 home premium and using Kaspersky antivirus. One is base directly wired and the other is wireless. I formed a new Homegroup and each PC saw the libraries and files correctly. I then added video streaming and things went wrong. The wireless can see and read all libraries fine while the base only sees the libraries, but can not read. Advanced sharing is all checked. When I try to access the file on the base PC I get various error msgs, can't find file, check spelling, refresh PC,etc. Troubleshooter says connection ok, some other problem. I have gotten error code ox80070035 network path not found. Network map on wireless shows both PC's and 4 media devices (2 users each) and the router. The base only shows 2 PC's and only 2 media devices ( that PC users ) and router. I disbanded this Homegroup and re-formed with new password and immediately had same problem. I may have added to this problem by also setting up a workgroup with an older PC running Windows XP .I had to run the network installer, though it doesn't seem I should have to,and only the base PC even recognizes this PC. A workgroup already existed between the PC's and I thought all I had to do was join by using the same workgroup name.,but now I have to sign in to see the base PC. The only reason I wanted this was to be able to be able to print, but that is not possible.I can see files and music between the 2 PCs and it will show on the network map..sometimes. The wireless PC never shows this PC. Homegroup fix is the main issue and if I have un-join the workgroup that's ok. Pleas help, many thanks crushboy
