that file flashes open but then quickly closes. I went directly to the application and can't open it. How do I get it opened? seems like one problem after another on this new computer. ug!G Rittler

Just bought this HP runing Windows 7. Connection between access point, router and the internet is broken. Network Gateway is accessable but Windows can't receive network traffic from internet. What to do? Funny but it was working a couple of days ago. I can get on the internet using somebody elses connection that has not been protected.

Hi, Did you receive any error message when the issue happened? And what have done before the issue appear? I suggest to logon with Safe Mode with networking or Clean Boot, temporary disable firewall and antivirus program. Also check if any firewall has been set on the router, and you can by bass the router for test. Since it works well before, you can perform a system restore from a restore point to see if the same issue occurs. Hope that helps. Hi, As I said before, you need also disable firewall and antivirus program to troubleshoot the issue, sometimes the firewall and antivirus program (Norton in your machine) may block the traffic of networking. You can temporary remove Norton to see if the same issue occurs. Thanks Leo, In answer to your first question - I received a message from Norton saying to deinstall the program - I forget the complete message. I thought that was weird. Their download was sent to me in that message. I deinstalled the program. I thought there may have been something wrong with Norton program - not anything having to do with wireless networking. I started to perform your instructions given to me from another help response. I restored from the earliest restore point, but it didn't clear the problem. I started to perform the clean boot but I didn't finish unchecking and checking all of the services. I got nervous about doing this because I didn't know what I was doing. Thanks for the link to print it out. I've done that and my son will help me. Do you think Norton was the problem? GeorgiaG Rittler
