Constant error messages for every program.
So basically it's how the title says. Any program I run, no matter what it is from Google Chrome to the calculator, when I close it, I get the error message "We are sorry, but *insert program* as encountered an error and needs to close." It hasn't been a problem until recently because the programs would run just fine, I just got the error message whenever I'd close them. However now, I have a program that has a critical update and the error messages for the updater are popping up while the program is still running and I can't keep it going. I've run multiple registery error correction programs and virus/mal-ware scanners. Nothing has come up and nothing that I've done has fixed it. I'm trying to avoid wiping my hard drive and starting over again as I have some large programs that would require a lot of downloading and reinstalling. Any ideas?

Hi tonygtsr, Method 1:I would suggest you to perform a SFC scan and check –To Perform a SFC Scan -a. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allowb. Type the following command, and then press ENTER:sfc /scannow A message will appear stating that 'The system scan will begin'. Be patient because the scan may take some timec. If any files require a replace SFC will replace them. If everything is okay you should, after the scan, see the following message "Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations".d. After the scan has completed, close the command prompt window, restart the computer and check.Check the below mentioned link for further guidance on SFC scan -http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310747Method 2: You may check in a clean boot state if you can identify the program with which the file is associated. To perform the clean boot follow the step 1 mentioned in the below article and then try checking in this clean boot state -http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353If the issue gets resolved check which non-Microsoft service or program is causing the problem; referring to the article and following other steps. After you have finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:a. Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.b. On the General tab, click the Normal Startup option, and then click OK.c. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Restart.Method 3:If the issue persists you may check if you face the same issue in a new or different user account or administrator account. If you do not face the same issue in a new account then the current account may be corrupted. In this case you can refer to the below link -“How to copy data from a corrupted user profile to a new profile in Windows XP“-http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151Hope this helps. Thanks,Meghmala – Microsoft SupportVisit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think

I've run multiple registery error correction programs ..Using a Registry Cleaner is for most users a big mistake!Do you have a complete backup from before the errors started and before you used a Registry Cleaner?Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling a faulting programme? Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell
