Contents of Windows/Web causes explorer.exe crashes
I think I have may posted this in the wrong section previously as I didn't realize it had to do with security and permissions.I ran into a problem after installing the Vista Ultimate Dreamscene content causing explorer.exe to crash anytime I tried to work with or even view the contents of Windows/Web/Dreamscene.I'm hoping someone can help with this. I've found my persmission for the windows\web folder seem to be odd. I have an account wich is part of adminstrators, and even tried this logged in as the administrator but when I go to select the checkboxes for either admins or as my account the boxes are shadded and won't let me select anything. I tried to do this with an individial dreamsceane movie file and couldn't do it either. I thought maybe because they were in the window/web/dreamscene folder to I cut and pasted the movie files to my desktop to try them there, but all of a sudden I got in a vicous loop where there would be a problem with explorer.exe and it would reload itself. Then loop all over again. I managed to reboot into safe mode as the administrator and get to my accounts desktop and tried moving them back to their original folder, but then got stuck in that vicous explorer.exe failed loop. So logged back in with safe mode and just deleted the dang movie files then disabled dreamscene altogether via the control panel. One thing I noticed is that the 3 original dreamscene files a little tiny extra icon in the lower left hand corner(two heads). I assuming this meant they were shared or something and available to all accounts. The new dreamscene movie files didn't have that little icon on it.I wondering what happened to the person though, and how I fix this in the future when the vista won't even give the administrator account proper permissions to make changes. It's been way too long since I played around with user accounts and such in Windows 98, so feel a little over my head and confused with what vista is doing. After that long rambling story I'm hoping someone has some guidance as to what happend. A hiccup with security permission when downloaded new Ultimate extras content? I am thinking of renenabling dreamscene an hoping it will reinstall correctly, but don't want to go through that whole mess again;-)Thanks in advance for any help!Trent Rowet.rowe@shaw.ca

Hi It is because the owner of windows\web folder is trustedinstaller, which does not permit to change permission by default. If you want to change permission of window/web/dreamscene, try go to properties->security->advanced->owner to change the ownership to administrators. Then, try to see if it works. Hope this helps.
