I am getting nearly continuous i/O on my harddisk. I have checked programs and processess nohting running. cleaned out startup. Scanned for malicious software. The disk light is always on and the computer is so slow it lags when I type in a Word processing document.I have 2 Gb memory running XP professional, don't use any heavy gaming or graphics programs. There is also lag in cursor movment.I deleted AVG software and re downloaded, interestingly once i managed to click on the download icon (jerky cursor)the download speed was in no way impaired and the disk did not seem as busy though still busy. When I take off line still asbad. If I leave alone for any length of timeteh PChibernates and will not come back to life unless I shut down and restart with the power off button.Anybody outthere got any thoughts or could offer any assistance to one very baffle, distressed, pissed off person.cheers Paul.
