Copy Error
We are running Windows 2003 Standard server for 99% of server environment. We have started implementing Windows 7 Pro computers into our network and we are seeing an issue that I can't figure out. Some of our users are reporting that when they
try to copy information from their Windows 7 machine to the Network Share they are getting Permission Errors. The user in question has access to this folder to do this and with their Windows XP machine could do this with out a problem. They are also seeing
this message when trying to remove information from the network share as well. They could do this as well with their Windows XP machines.
I have the UAC turned off on these machines.
Do we need to change anything on the server side or a Windows 7 setting?
Thanks for your help!

You need permission to perform this action. Try Again or Cancel. As I said above these users have rights to modify these folders.

Are the Windows 7 computers in domain? If not, I suggest you change the default NTLM authentication level in Windows 7.
Please open gpedit.msc from Start Search box. Then locate to the following policy.
Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options\Network security: LAN Manager authentication level
Please change “Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated”.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

Please check the permission settings of the parents folders. The users need the permission to modify the folders. It might be different from accessing from Windows XP which works based on SMB. In Windows 7 and Windows Vista the protocol is SMBv2.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. The users do have modify permission. Can I specify the protocol to be used on Windows 7?
