Corrupted MBR on Bitlocker proctected drive
It's an external HDD and my OS is Win7. I've done some reading and I know about the Bitlocker repair tool but I can't find my Recovery Key, Recovery Password or Key Package. All I have is my user unlock password and a .pki file. Am I going to be able to recover anything from the drive?

Hi Qureish, I'd like to inform you that without a recovery key or recovery password, all data on the encrypted drive may be inaccessible and unrecoverable if there is a problem with the BitLocker-protected drive. For your reference, please check the following article: How to use the BitLocker Repair Tool to help recover data from an encrypted volume in Windows Vista or in Windows Server 2008http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928201 BitLocker Drive Encryption Overviewhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc732774.aspxSean Zhu - MSFT

Thanks...I did find a file called bitlocker.pfx. What is it for? Can I obtain my recovery password from it?

OK, well here's a major update. I found my bitlocker recovery key. The drive has been quick formatted though I haven't stored anything on it yet so everything should be recoverable right? WHen I run recover-bde with '-rp [my 16 digit password] -nov -force' this is what I get: LOG WARNING: 0x80000029 Failed to lock volume. (0x80070005) LOG INFO: 0x00000027 Valid metadata at offset 1969393152 found at scan level 4. LOG INFO: 0x00000028 Successfully created repair context.
