Customer Computer
Customer's computer has a failing HDD. The drive is still some what accesable but booting to windows quickly results in a blue screen. I can slave the drive out on another machine and get some access. The Problem: Customer wants to save as much of his data as possible, but I can't access his documents at all. When I boot to the drive I get the blue screen. When I slave the drive to another machine I get an "Access Denide" How can I recover my customer's data? I have both his password and the 'administrator' accounts password, but I still can't recover his data. Can someone tell me how to xfer the data to the new HDD? Thanks

You'll need to take ownership of the drive:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308421Once done, you'll have full access to his files, and be able to copy them off of the drive. If you're doing it from an XP machine, note the difference between Home and Pro (this applies to the machine being used for recovery, not to the OS on the failing drive.)
