DHCP
Hello Everyone,
I am facing an issue with the physical machine NOT taking IP from DHCP when I pxe boot the system.
whereas in case of VM DHCP is giving ip to VM and pxe boot is working fine. I want to know what probable reasons may be in case of physical machine not taking IP from DHCP while booting the system with PXE.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Vishwajeet.

Is the phyiscal machine is in the same subnet as the DHCP?
How do you point out you PXE server, by iphelpers or DHCP options?

Is the DHCP server on the same server as the WDS server? If so, make sure that you have enabled Option 60 on the DHCP server :)Blog: www.danielclasson.com/blog |

Hi ,
It seems there is a problem with windows 7 and DHCP server. You may try the following suggestions to troubleshoot.
1. Disable all the security programs and firewall to check the issue.
In Windows 7, you can run the following command in an elevated command prompt to disable
Windows Firewall and check the issue:
Netsh advfirewall set allprofiles state off
For more information about netsh command for WFAS, please also refer to:
Netsh
Commands for Windows Firewall with Advanced Security
2. Reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

3. Reset WinSock
=================================
a. Click Start, click "All programs", and click "Accessories".
b. Right-click "Command Prompt", and click "Run as administrator". If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
c. Please enter the following command, and press Enter.
Netsh winsock reset
d. A message stating "Successfully reset the Winsock Catalog" will appear. Please restart the computer.
Meanwhile, for the server related, I would also suggest you to post the question on the
