I would be happy if someone could explain this message I get when trying to submit forms or notes to websites. In windows 7 there must be somewhere to go to set this mail client correctly so theres no more bother of this sort. I have no problems sending mails from my inbox to anywhere. Bt/ microsft reps I spoke to said two opposing things. One said I would have to go to microsoft outlook, which i dont see in windows 7 {have they changed the name?} and the other guy said it was the fault of the website I was trying to send to, so ring them! Surely theres a simple solution to this. Would be grateful for assistance. Thanks.

Windows 7 does not come with a mail client. If you have Microsoft Office, you can use Outlook. If you need a free solution, Microsoft offers Windows Live Mail as a free download: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=56883DE5-2024-4631-806E-757693072A1C&displaylang=en There are also some third party alternatives available, such as Thunderbird: http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/ I'm sure there are others as well.

Thanks mate its still a mystery to me though that if you wired to the Net and everything works in normal emailing why you should ever get this crappy message about the mysterious mail client going about not being properly installed. When elsewhere in the same vicinity all is is well and sending out into the cyberworld and smiley. Still what do i know. Not enough it would seem. Thanks again friend for your input.

Although many people object to this, I think it's a step in the right direction, since it leaves everyone more free to choose whatever program(s) he likes best. There are many choices available, both from Microsoft and from third-parties. Some are free and some are for sale. Microsoft has Windows Live Mail (which is essentially also a newer version of Outlook Express/Windows Mail, with still another new name) available for download for free and Outlook (a different program from outlook express) available for sale, either alone or as part of Microsoft Office. Some people will tell you to use Windows Live Mail; others will tell you to use Thunderbird; still others may have other recommendations. My advice is to ignore all such recommendations. I personally use Microsoft Outlook for e-mail and Fort Agent for newsgroups, but you should try several and choose what *you* like best, rather than make your decision based on what I, or anyone else, likes best (or even what Microsoft suggests).
