Defender is off at reboot/Running XP/NOT using AVG
It seems this is a common problem and I've read through a large amount of posts but still can't find an answer. My problem is somewhat different.I am running XP Home Edition but I am NOT running AVG. I am using Spybot-Search and Destroy 1.6.2.46 and Registry Reviver Ver 1.3.26. I have most updates set to automatically install and some of them require my system to reboot. When this happens Defender is automatically turned off. I may not notice this for a day or two since I am not at my computer every day. So, two questions:How can I stop Defender from being turned off at reboot, and;How much risk is my computer facing with Defender "off" and my Internet connection always "on"? (I have wideband service).
