Defragmentation is complete for: (C:)__Some files on this volume could not be defragmented.__Please check the defragmentation report for the list of these files.__
Last evening, I successfully upgraded to Norton Internet Security 2010.However, after running disk defragmenter in Windows XP MCE 2005 SP3, I noticed that some files can no longer be defragmented. I receive the following message post running the defragmenter: Defragmentation is complete for: (C:)Some files on this volume could not be defragmented. Please check the defragmentation report for the list of these files. However, the defragmentation report list is empty.I've never received this message before. The defragmenter ran in the past with no issues.I did, however, notice something different when I ran chkdsk (Check Disk) post NIS 2010 installation. I noticed that when I ran chkdsk, that the USN Journal was being checked (verified). That item was never checked (verified) when running chkdsk prior to NIS 2010 installation. Could that be the issue? Is there a way to resolve this issue?John1 person needs an answerI do too

Seems the Norton had some files which it blacked out from the Defragmenter application. Also, it might be possible that some of the files might have got corrupted after you installed Norton, and while running CHKDSK, they got rectified, you may try running the Defragmenter again and check the results.
