Defragmented files cannot be deleted
I keep getting messages that my computer has low virtual memory or not fully protected for which I fix. I continue getting the message that my PC is not fully protected...two or three times a day. McAfee fixes the problem, only to have it happen again "low virtual memory" or "problem has occurred and we can't send or receive info". When I used the Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter, it indicated that two files could not be defragmented. Upon checking these two files, they were files sent to me through Outlook Email about 2/2008 which disrupted or locked out my Outlook Express mailing system. I could not delete these two files, could not send outgoing mail, or read incoming mail. It was at that time I changed email address in Mozilla Firefox. This problem is wrecking my use of my computer. I have also gone in on my computer, and deleted outlook express email, but I continue to get the above message when I use the Disk Defragmenter. I've deleted cookies. I have tried everything..over and over... since this happened in 2008. When I could go to my Outlook Express Email, before I deleted it, I tried every way possible to delete the file, and could not. I have Windows XP computer and have had it since 2003.

You can try using the delete command in command prompt, to do that go to the start menu then run, type in "cmd" without the qoutes, in the command window that comes up type "del -f c:\path\way\to\your\file , you have to make sure that you get the pathway exact, you can find that out by using the search feature. you can also use a third party application to delete withlike Killbox or move on boot

I have had Windows XP since 2004 on a Sony Vaio and when I changed e-mail addresses earlier this year, all ____ broke loose. My computer was crashing all the time, my Internet access was a nightmare and the so-called "on-line techs" couldn't solve my problem. I don't remember who told me, but when inquiring with a colleague, I mentioned that I had Norton Internet Security, then changed to McAfee and now had Mozilla Firefox. He said if I had more than one security software program running concurrently, these programs "fight" with and overeach other and are in constant conflict. So I removed every bit of security software off my computer and re-installed ONLY ONE (I went back to Norton) and it was like a new lease on life for my Sony. Try it, it can't hurt.
